My husband and I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro from April 27 to May 4 to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary.
The resort itself is beautiful. The pools and beach were great, and the food exceeded our expectations. The steaks at the restaurants were fantastic, and the restaurant staff provided excellent service.
Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by an issue at check-in. A front desk employee named Daniel told us multiple times that we needed to purchase the Adults Only...

"One thing that disappointed me during my stay was the hotel’s visitor policy. Guests were not allowed to have more than one person visit the room at a time, even briefly during the day. I completely understand limits on overnight guests or parties, but this policy felt unusually restrictive and was not clearly disclosed when booking. Had I known beforehand, I likely would have chosen a different hotel."

"We were a group of 13 people get reservations for restaurants was a little bit difficult but we made it to three different restaurants. Food was amazing every where. We were staying a Level and moving to the general lobby was slow because they don’t have enough carts to move people around. But the drivers were really nice and patient with the situation."

"I’m not usually an all-inclusive type of traveler, but this resort was a great fit for us. The property never felt crowded, the beach was wide and relaxing, and we liked having the flexibility to eat only what we wanted instead of feeling tied to buffet meals all day. "I received great service. Entire staff was beyond helpful even with the language barrier at times. From the front desk to the house keepers. Very polite and well mannered. I would recommend staying here again and again. Safe, friendly, clean. I even accidentally left my door wide open one day and was gone the entire day. Nothing was disturbed. Walking distance to stores. Excursions pick you up right in front of the building. It gets no better."

"I loved my room and the pool area.
Outside of that, it was pretty disappointing:
- There was no regular food place open, especially for breakfast and lunch, depsite being an all-inclusive.
- Staff were slow to respond, didn't speak or understand English, were sometimes rude
- It was not clear from the booking that the beach is a golf cart ride. Quick, but not a beach front property as advertised.
- Staff gave preferential treatment to White guests. I am a Black, American women.
