The air con was broken which was a big problem with 3 small children and record Paris temperatures. Fair enough, things can break but it is the way the staff dealt with it on check in.
I asked if anything can be done or compensation offered to which she said the only thing that can be done if you are not happy with the room is to go to another hotel. A poor response considering we had arrived at 9pm with 3 tired small children. They knew the air con was broken all day, if this was to be their argument they should have phoned guests to at least give them the opportunity to book another hotel.
There were other small problems which I would not normally complain about to be honest but given the frustrations above I will. The room door was stuck which meant we had to go back to reception to get them to open the door. There was space either side of the double bed for a bedside table but there was only one bedside table. For a spa hotel I would expect conditioner in the showers.
We have stayed at great mercure hotels in the past but the overall experience was poor at this one. Breakfast was good and the staff, friendly.
