Horrible molde smell in hall waya and room ,first night impossble to sleep ,hard time breathing .Moved to another room still filthy maides only swept never vacuumed or washed floors ,hair everywhere .To top it off a used condon on the balcony room 421 .was there when we arrived and im sure it's still there .None of the slidind doors locked people could acess the room from next door.Worst expirience ever especially for the money we paid .On your site and there's claim to be 4 star and charge for a 5 star.Should remove from your list.

Great place to stay and visit the city. Helpful staff who advised about trips. Good choice of breakfast. Central location and easy to travel around the sights. We loved the roof top pool and bar. A great place to relax in both the daytime and evening.

The service is good and the location is great. We liked the pool. The breakfast is not good and the shower has mold and smelled very bad. Bed and pillow were uncomfortable.

Room was very old and dated and apparently I received a upgrade. Hotel staff around the swimming pool very rude but the rest are ok Swimming pool was filthy also

Infelizmente o Hotel não está bem mantido como devia. Foi um dos melhores Hoteis do Rio, mas infelizmente hj se tornou um Hotel basico, o Lobby que já foi super elegante hj se mantém bem básico com móveis não bem mantidos. Limpeza no geral boa, mas manutenção precisa de mais atenção, café da manhã fraco, e o preço de um expresso R$9.00, pois não está incluso no café da manhã, não faz sentido. Felipe na recepção e Billy no café da manhã foram muito atenciosos. Pelo valor cobrado talvez não acho válido.

They gave away 1 of my 2 rooms even though I called to inform them we would arrive the next morning early, then still charged for that room. The room did not look like the photo although very clean and I got an extra single bed in the living room of a suite. I was at the back (half the rooms are at the back) where the garbage collectors banged around for hours at night. Location is good. It is a hotel for tourist and not business, my room did not have a work chair.

Excellent stay
My partner and I stayed here for 11 nights and had a great time. We chose the room with a sea view which was wonderful. Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast consisted of hot foods, pastries, cereal and fruit. The roof top pool was excellent. You can book day trips through reception which is helpful. Restaurants are all along the beach on each side. Would definitely return to this hotel if we ever go back to Rio.

My stay here was okay. It's a decent property in a great location with a fantastic view. All the facilities were clean and accessible. My room was clean and serviced everyday. The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options. Despite all the positives I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again. This is not a bad property but I am just used to luxury accommodations when on vacation. The beds are hard; in a cheap way not in a firmness way. The shower was so tiny that I had to leave the shower doors open so I could have enough room to clean myself. The grout in the shower also had a lot of stains. It was clean but unsightly. Also, the toilets are hard to flush. I called about having toilet issues and no one came. They never sent anyone or followed up on it. I had to ask the maid who came around 4pm the next day for help and she was the one that fixed it. The staff were always nice and professional but they weren't exceptional. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days then moved to the Fairmont Hotel. BIG DIFFERENCE! As soon as you step into the Fairmont you can feel the luxury and exceptional customer service. I know these 2 hotels are in different class ranges so I can't expect the same thing from them. I only decided to give Pestana a try because Fairmont is at the far end of the beach and I really wanted to be more centered. If I was the type that only needed a clean room and bed to travel then I would definitely stay at Pestana again.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour de 10 nuits à cet hôtel. Nous avions une chambre rénovée avec vue sur la mer au 11e étage. La piscine sur la terrasse est superbe. La nourriture de l'hôtel est excellente ! On peut manger et boire un verre sur la terrasse ! À la réception, Marcs offre un excellent service, très attentionné et compétent ! J'y retournerais sans hésiter !

The property was very nice and most of the staff were very nice and hospitable. The breakfast was good and the beach was directly across the street (great location). The only issue was the bed was too hard and very uncomfortable but other than that the hotel fit what we needed.

Wonderful location across from beach and many restaurants nearby. Friendly, accommodating staff except for one night shift fellow. Clean. Nice breakfast buffet, though little variety. Rooms a bit basic and small showers, but I think all have balconies, which is nice. Make sure you have an upper floor, or else your view is blocked. For the price I thought this was a very nice place with pleasant common areas in lobby and roof.

Amazing views from out balcony. Bar and pool at the rooftop deck was very impressive too. Gym a bit small but we were able to workout. Right in front of copacabana with tons of restaurants, bars and little shopping areas.

It's all about the location, is what you pay for. The interior spaces within the hotel room were very outdated, scratched and marred walls need repainting, and room lacked inspiring design and color. The breakfast was very plain and most of the foid items offered were plain in taste. The swimming was nice, but the supposed gym was deplorable, and tiny space to use the broken equipment, as well as insufficient ventilation. Overall, way overpriced hotel ($300 USD per night), what saved me was the kind and warm reception service from staff member Marcs. Besides that, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Great Stay
Location is perfect, basically right in the middle of Copacabana beach. Bars and restaurants straight outside. Staff were friendly and helped us check in at short notice at 3am due to flight delay - breakfast was good, pool area was nice. Also make sure you upgrade for a sea view as sunrise is beautiful from your balcony!
