“Four days at the Howard Johnson Shanghai”

This is a great hotel at the very epicenter of shanghai a short 2 minute walk to every where including the bund etc, the room was great the staff helpful and the best location and well priced, my wife and I spent four nights there on holiday in April 2012' the only criticisms we would have was the bed was a bit hard for our liking and the breakfast overpriced, however there are multiple choices to eat within two minutes of hotel at a fraction of the cost, over all a very good hotel a good experience would highly recommend and again fabulous location.

I was upgraded to a suite, very nice, although furnitures are old. Great location, steps away from Nanying road pedestrian street for shopping.

Hotel in perfect location next to Nanjing Street East and few hundred yards from metro station. Staff were very helpful and all spoke English. Rooms were great and adequately sized. Only issue were beds mattresses are slightly harder than used to. Overall, recommend to anyone coming to Shanghai.

“Hard pressed to find better”

When I go overseas which is quite often I research the hotels I plan to stay at through the internet and I am happy to say I was NOT dissapointed with the Howard Johnson. I stayed 3 nights here and 3 at another hotel closer to some attractions I wanted to see. The location to Nanjing Road is prime. When I arrived I was upgraded to a business room ok I was not in prime tourist season. But still I was impressed. I am a bit of a gym junkie and they have a very good range of equipment. With the pool and spa I was happy I stayed here. For the quality and the price I think you would be hard pressed to find anything better. I have stayed at more expensive hotels that would struggle to compete.

Perfect location for Nanjing Rd, The Bund and Shanghai Museum, staff very friendly and helpful. Food and service costs just a little more expensive than expected. Overall it was very good.

I had a great stay at the HoJo Shanghai. First rate hotel in a fantastic location. Easy to get to everything by foot or just a couple blocks from metro which goes to both airports. I am very happy I chose to stay here.

This is a very nice property. It is well situated with a great shopping area one block away. There is a Mc Donalds across the street and other affordable places to eat (Pizza Hut, KFC, etc.) as well as local Asian food. Don't be afraid by other people saying that walking to the hotel is not okay. It's only one block that you need to pay attention to your surroundings but it's okay. We enjoyed the location. The subway is about two blocks away and easy to get to. The Bund is walking distance as well as other attractions. Great location and hotel.
