The hotel was just old and ran down. It smells so bad. The first room we went in smelled like pee and mildew and she offered us a balcony room which the balcony’s window was taped shut for a window unit. I mean the room was somewhat clean the housekeepers are doing their best, but the smell was awful. And the carpet is so dirty. I would probably never stay here again. The staff at the front desk will answer text messages before they even look at you and coming to the desk with your boyfriend on speaker I mean I work for a hotel and this just wasn’t it.

Housekeeping was short-staffed, so was slow in turning over rooms which backed up check-in for lots of folks. A/C hardly worked, barely kept room somewhat bearable. Only stayed for one night, was fine for what it was but definitely has issues that need to be resolved.

The pictures of this hotel on Expedia are not accurate or up to date, in reality, the property looks significantly more run-down. One of the biggest issues we faced was the lack of working central AC, which was not disclosed anywhere prior to our arrival. In the middle of a hot Atlanta summer, the “temporary solution” provided .small portable fans and AC units, was simply not enough. The first room we were given was unbearably hot. Even with the small AC unit on, it didn’t cool at all, and by 10 p.m., it was still too uncomfortable to stay in. Thankfully, Chasta at the front desk (shoutout to her!) was incredibly kind and helpful. She moved us to a different room with a better AC setup, and we really appreciated her going the extra mile. That said, overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The elevator felt sketchy and stopped randomly, the hallways and common areas were dirty, and the entire place does not reflect the quality shown in the online images. The breakfast was okay, nothing special, but decent. If you’re looking for comfort and transparency, especially during the summer, this might not be the right place.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was hot. No A/C in the elevator - should be illegal lol. My room had a portable a/c unit which kept it relatively cool. Couldn’t walk into the balcony bc it was blocked off from the a/c portable unit. If you need a cheap hotel for a one night stay, then this is your place. Unfortunately, doesn’t meet my needs.

It was a good experience. On the older side and while the air conditioning did work, it was not spectacular. It was quiet and staff were helpful. If we come back to Atalanta we’ll definitely stay here again.

PARKING IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. I had to pay $18 extra to park the car. This is an old hotel, the elevator looked like was gonna break all the time. The air conditioner in the room was not working properly and breakfast was not good. I gave 2 stars 'cause staff was frindly.

Het is een echt Amerikaans hotel. Gedateerd, verschoten vloerbedekking. Er is opzich niets mis mee, maar het kan een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Kamer is schoon, ontbijt goed. Ligging is oke. Personeel vriendelijk. Parkeren prijzig, maar dat is de grote stad. Zou het weer boeken.

The good the bad and the ugly, starting with the good, the location is amazing and the rooms are fairly spacious, they come with a nice bathtub and the beds are pretty comfortable. The Barclay was the cheapest hotel I could find in downtown Atlanta so I wasn't expecting too much, and the rooms were acceptable and the location was great. The bad, staff were very rude and unhelpful, the breakfast tasted like school cafeteria food, we were urged to check out hours before check out time, the drain in the shower/tub was full of hair from a previous guest. The ugly, the worst part, the air conditioner in my room was broken, when I told the staff they didn't care at all, just wrote down a note to fix it at some point and that's all. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap hotel in downtown Atlanta The Barclay isn't a bad option, especially if you get a room with working AC, but it's nothing more than that.

Tasha at the Front Desk is such a sweetheart. She answered all the questions my girlfriend and I had without any hesitation. The cleanliness wasn’t the best, as there were a few hairs in the shower. Maybe a lot of people wouldn’t have noticed, but having worked in the hospitality industry for years, I spotted them right away. The property is old, so you get what you pay for.

The elevator was a little broken, we had to switch rooms because our first room toilet was clogged. And our second room air conditioning did not work only the heat. But the front desk people were very friendly and super helpful.

This was the perfect stay for mysister and I. The Indian restaurant across the street is a must. The staff are great, and the room was clean.

I was in town for a convention and wanted something close to the GWCC. This was a nice place to stay, the rooms were clean as well as the bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful and was parking was right across the street. Now this is not a complaint just letting you know if you have a truck you will be able to get in to the parking garage but moving up and down the levels are a tight fit but I made it.
