Small clean room with a small price
This is a reasonably priced accommodation in a good location. The rooms are tiny, but clean and well maintained. Housekeeping is limited to every other day.

Room is very small. Noise can be heard from the hall, street 18 floor below, and loud machine running noise at midnight inside the building. Fool smell from the rack holes right below the bidet spray and all over the bathroom to my bed. Had to close the bathroom door when sleep but still smell it. Seems like the room next door shares the same toilet pipe that the flushing toilet water can be heard running thru the pipe on this side. I had to hurry check out as early as 5AM just to get out of it.

Penang stay in Cititel Express in year 2023
Overall is perfect, location wise and the front desk staff is helpful and cheerful. Except for the room cleaning is happened only two days once. During my 5 days 4 night stay only tidy up the room once. Another issue is the central air-conditioning, it seems like is over-usage by the hotel guest, it quite stuffy during the mid-night. Lastly is the pillow quite soft and wear and teared, could not support the neck and head in proper position. Lucky housekeeping has the additional pillow to provide. Finally is just a qurious query why some of the vacant room's door is not close completely? Morning, afternoon, evening is still the same status, it make me quite worry and scary feelings. i did inform the front desk, but no action has been taken.

Nice hotel, clean and friendly staff. Main problem is parking ticket. Every time it will say faulty and have to go to front desk to get it replaced. Front desk is only open 9am to 9pm. Beyond these hours, have to go to adjacent Wembley Hotel front desk. Room a bit small but beds are comfortable. The washroom exhaust was not working, apparently the hotel was having some issues with it. So it’s a bit uncomfortable to use. Each time after housekeeping, need to ask for third towel as there were three of us and had to call the front desk multiple times and wait about 20 minutes to get one. Otherwise location is great, walking distance to KOMTAR, 1st Avenue and Georgetown overall. Good price- was $40 Canadian per night and nice hotel.

The plus point of this hotel is location.
Total stayed 6 nights, 2 separate booking 4n + 2n 2nd day - got locked out fm my own room 3rd day - rushing out for my mum funeral, safe cant open. Lame reason was too many stuff in the safe (1 laptop, 1 ipad, 2 passports & prayer red pkts) 5th day - returned fm tiring prayer, got locked out fm room again. Reason was I supposed to checkout. I already extended & paid tourism tax on 2nd day of my stay

Receptionen var stängd. Fick gå till hotellet intill som de hade outsourchat till och hon jag pratade med var väldigt svår att förstå, pratade snabbt och hade inte den kundservicen man bör ha i det yrket. Wifi fungerade inte och när jag meddelade detta så lyckades de inte lösa det i receptionen heller. Fick ringa ifrån telefonen på rummet och prata med annan personal. Rummet var rent och fräscht, duschen var väldigt bra med bra vattentryck.

Bad housekeeping.
Rooms are small with basic amenities, ok for the price paid. Housekeeping quality is doubtful as a bed sheet with obvious stain mark was not replaced, only flipped around. This is unacceptable. Lobby is confusing, as it is shared with Wembly St. Giles, and no clear signs on where to go to lobby. At level 19, there was even two mushrooms that popped out between teh wall and the floor along the corridor.

Decent stay
I booked this hotel due to its proximity to KOMTAR bus terminal for convenience of my Penang Bridge International Marathon travel. Room was quite small but facilities were good. Check in/out had to be done at The Wembley’s lobby. No free breakfast was included in my package.
