First impression was feeling a little disappointed. I'm not sure what the difference is between a hotel and a hostel, but this definitely felt like the latter. The reception is found on the first floor up narrow stairs by the side of the restaurant kitchen.
The staff are really nice and very welcoming, and the room was fine - I'm a traveller, so I am perfectly comfortable in basic hotels (but after Thailand, I thought I would get more for the price).
No, what gives this hotels poor rating was that I was awoken in the early hours by people (shouting or playing video games). The hotel responded well to my complaint after the first night, but when my sleep was disturbed the second night I gave up and moved to another hotel.
I can tolerate a lot with accommodation, but can't stay in a place where I can't get a good night's sleep.
