New Iberia is my home town. The hotel staff is great, they work very hard, and they try. We did have to change rooms due to gnats in one room and we open a door that was occupied and a man was sleeping, however the third room was good. The hotel is old, it needs some care but the rooms are clean and the staff are so nice and that matters to me.

The front desk staff were all very friendly and very helpful. They were wonderful to converse with. The con was our hotel room, which was dark and old and felt dirty. We had to use the pull out couch and that was filled with crumbs and stuff when we lifted it out. The bathroom was old and dingy and the shower curtain would not stay in place. It always slipped down which caused an opening at the top and water would always get onto the floor.

The Pros of this hotel is the staff is friendly, but the communication between staff members is terrible. Cons: the list is long, so buckle up. **look at pictures*** 1.) Most of the safety latches in the rooms are broken. We had to request to be switched because our young children can open the door without the safety latch enabled. 2.) Absolutely NO towels in our room. We were preoccupied with our kids to double check that we had towels in our room. I quickly went up to the front desk to get some.... They had only ONE towel, ONE pool towel, and one wash cloth... that's it. 3.) The water pressure was non-existent. It barely was able to trickle out. 4.) There were a couple dead cockroaches in our room, now, I am happy they were dead and not alive, however, if the room was being maintained... these should have been vacuumed. 5.) No Wi-Fi for the tv. 6.) The pool itself looked very unkept, and the water was a dingy color. 7.) Breakfast was a joke. We walked downstairs, early I might add to make sure our kids ate. There was no paper plates, when we did ask for some it took 5 minutes just to get plates. The sausage and eggs were completely empty. As was the coffee. 8.) The phone in our room did not work, nor did some of the lights and the batteries of the remote were dead. After all this nonsense we requested to check out early and a refund. Enjoyed my stay. Was quite, bed comfortable, staff was very friendly, breakfast was great. The only thing that was concerning there was a lot of rust, around the toliet rack, it was broken, but very clean otherwise. Stayed on the 1st floor but this was the first place where you didn't hear stumping or running up and down above us.

The advertising of the amenities was misleading there is no outdoor pool or fitness center. There were several doors and structures in need of repair. The rooms were nice, big and clean. The staff was excellent. Each person was welcoming, nice, friendly and helpful. The buffet was lacking on variety and quantity. Day one the scrambled eggs were what seemed burned and hardly any there was no milk set out for cereal and hardly any syrup for the waffles. Day two no syrup plenty of eggs and sausage. Day three no syrup one sausage link and no eggs but there was milk for the cereal with only three muffins. Coffee station was well stocked and the coffee was surprisingly good. The lack of amenities and breakfast is in no way a reflection in staff service I am sure they can only make do with what corporate provides to them. The staff should be acknowledged with their service.

Good but not great, don’t expect too much
A good stay compared to motels or lesser hotels. To be fair, we usually stay at Marriotts or Hiltons so my standards are high. I WOULD stay again if my kids want to swim but if I have my choice I’ll probably choose the Hampton inn or holiday inn next time I’m in the area. Overall for me, 7/10.

Despite the worn appearance and unpleasant moldy smell in the room, we were able to get some rest during our one-night stay. We avoided running the air conditioning unit as it seemed to worsen the odor. However, the weather was pleasant enough to not require it. The breakfast served was satisfactory and, on the positive side, the beds were clean. Although there were some negatives, we were able to make the best of the situation and get the rest we needed.
