I booked a suite on the 14th floor for 6 days for my team’s series against the Yankees and The Club World Cup. The room was nice, a bit cramped for what I expected for a suite and had a very small shower. The air conditioning in the room was broken and it was not remedied for 3 days when I reluctantly asked if I could switch rooms.
I purchased a hand held thermometer to test the temperature of the room (74-76°) but was told by management that engineering tested it “blowing at 60.” Over those three days it took much back and forth but I was eventually moved to a lower category room on the floor 8 next to the elevator.
The new room was fine. AC worked and room was a suitable replacement. It felt way less cramped than the 14th floor suite. I was disappointed being so near the elevator because I heard everyone’s conversation (including housekeeping) that was waiting for the elevator (which often took more than 3 minutes to reach my floor).
I received great customer service from some staff, Lei, Suzy and Josue. And some disappointing customer care from most everyone else. The doormen did not open the door or greet me once. Upon checkout they did not assist with luggage (I am recently recovering from bilateral broken humerus).
The in-app chat was not helpful. And it once took over 10 hours for a response
The positives were many despite some of the negatives. Great location, unique decor and beautiful in room bathrooms, comfortable beds. I would give them a second chance.
