"Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Istanbul and the hotel’s location was excellent. However, our experience with the tea shop located inside the hotel was extremely disappointing.
We purchased several tea products from the shop inside the hotel and later realized that the prices were extraordinarily high. The very next morning, I returned to the shop hoping to return part or all of the unused products, which were still in the same condition as when purchased. I was given a firm and immediate “no” without any effort to discuss a solution.
I then attempted to speak with the hotel manager on three separate occasions. Each time I was told the manager was unavailable. I left messages and my contact information requesting a call back, but I never received any response.
What disappointed me most was not only the amount of money spent, but the complete lack of follow-up and customer service. While I understand that the shop may have its own policies, I expected at least a conversation or acknowledgment from hotel management, especially since the shop is located within the hotel.
My advice to future guests is to carefully ask for a detailed breakdown of prices before making any purchase from the tea shop.
Turkey was a wonderful destination, and we truly enjoyed our trip, but this experience left a negative impression that could have been handled much more professionally."
