4/10
For the money we paid, this hotel wasn’t what we’ve come to expect from other four star hotels , they gave us the wrong room (we booked a double and were given a twin but unfortunately didn’t notice until late when we went to bed as the twin beds were pushed together), the room was very average and underwhelming, the ‘gym’ is pretty useless , it’s a converted bedroom (so very small) with a couple of treadmills and a couple of other fitness machines in it, the ‘spa’ is basically a swimming pool with 3 or 4 loungers next to it, when we went to look to see about using it , a family of two adults and two kids were in it and there wasn’t much space for anyone else to swim and the 3 or 4 loungers were all in use. The sauna was out of service. At breakfast there were no plates available to get food, we had to ask for them and then stood and waited for a while for them , there were no glasses for water, again, asked for them then stood waiting, the only bread on offer was cheap white sliced bread or a couple of small rolls looking sorry for themselves, there is no coffee machine so the coffee was in pump flasks and was stewed and unpleasant, the cooked food was a bit cold and the fried eggs were like rubber as they’d sat on the hot plate all morning, there is barely any phone signal in the hotel despite being in central london , there is no restaurant, just a pretty unappealing reception bar with bar snacks …I could go on but it felt like a very average 3 star hotel
