What you can expect

Join us in this trip through time, and get to know two emblematic places in Mexico and of diametrically opposed beliefs: Teotihuacan “the City of the Gods” and the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

We begin this trip with a stop at the plaza of the 3 cultures, where we can appreciate how the pre-Hispanic eras, the conquest and modern Mexico combine.

Later we will travel to Teotihuacan, where we will be able to see one of the first cities with a planning and future projection. Teotihuacan was not only a religious centre, it was a true cosmopolitan city in its heyday, and it was planned to be a great city. When we walk through the “Avenue of the Dead”, one of its main axes and streets, we can realise this, since the city was planned and drawn in the form of a grid; In the buildings and temples that still exist, one can appreciate the complex organisation of this city, from the drainage of it to the distribution of the areas of its inhabitants, according to their activity and social position.

You will have the opportunity to climb the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, and with it appreciate an impressive and beautiful view of the site, the ascent and descent of the pyramids is always on its side, its stairs are designed for it, in such a way that, never turn your back on the sky or the earth. You can also visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent and the Butterfly-quetzal or Quetzal-Mariposa. All of the above as a small sample of how advanced the ancient civilisations of this continent were.

The tour continues now towards the Basilica of Guadalupe. Located in the foothills of the Tepeyac hill, this imposing enclosure is the second most visited by Catholics around the world, especially during December 12, the day on which the Virgin of Guadalupe is celebrated.
The current basilica of Guadalupe is a modern temple, was made in the 70's and thought to accommodate a large number of pilgrims visiting this temple, as well as allowing greater visibility of one of the symbols of faith in Mexico .

The temple is surrounded by other buildings related to it, such as the old basilica, the chapel of El Cerrito, the chapel of El Pocito, the former convent of the Capuchins and others, which together form the “Tepeyac Religious Complex”.

This is a mystical journey that you will never forget and will give you the best insight possible to understand the contemporary Mexican culture
