Meeting/Redemption Point

    • City Hall, Belfast BT1 5GS, UK | Meeting Point: Belfast City Hall Courtyard We’ll meet inside the grounds of Belfast City Hall, not at the front gates. Many tours leave from outside and it can get busy, so to keep things simple I’ll be waiting in the courtyard directly facing the main entrance, beside the statue of Queen Victoria. Don’t worry — I always email or text beforehand, so you won’t miss the tour. Just keep an eye out for the bright blue school bag I wear on every tour — that’s the easiest way to spot me. Belfast City Hall itself is an iconic Baroque Revival building, instantly recognisable by its green copper domes and grand design. The courtyard is one of the most beautiful and historic spots in the city, surrounded by statues, gardens, and stories — the perfect place to begin our dander together.

What you can expect

Join A Belfast Dander for a laid-back, story-packed walk through the heart of the city — where no single topic takes the spotlight, because this tour is about everything Belfast.

This is a journey through the city’s layered storey. From ancient origins to the Troubles, from grand old buildings to street art and modern regeneration, we’ll dabble in it all. Along the way, your guide shares Belfast’s past and present — its people, places, humour, grit, and character — while wandering streets shaped by culture, conflict, creativity, and change.

This isn’t a lecture or a deep dive into one subject. It’s a walking conversation: a bit of history, a bit of architecture, a slice of local life, and plenty of personality. From City Hall to the Cathedral Quarter, from murals to markets, expect real stories, Belfast slang, and plenty of craic along the way.

You’ll leave with a genuine feel for the city — its soul, its struggles, its spirit — and a head full of stories you won’t find in the guidebooks.
