Join our morning tour to discover the wonders of Etna! With the full support of our expert guide, you'll experience the adventure of visiting: the Silvestri craters, five craters formed during the 1892 eruption. You'll walk along the rim of the southern crater (you can also walk inside the crater), enjoying the splendid views of the Ionian coast and the volcano itself; a lava flow cave, a channel (or tunnel) where hot, dense lava flowed, one of the ways the volcano pushes the lava as far as possible. The cave's size allows you to walk almost entirely upright (with torches and helmets provided); and the lava flows from the 1983 or 2002 eruptions (depending on weather conditions), the most destructive of the last 50 years. Your guide will show you the attempts made in both cases to stop the lava. A light lunch with soft drinks and dessert is included. Pickup and drop-off service from your accommodation in Catania.
