What you can expect

  • In our multi-award-winning museum building on Schaumainkai, you’ll gain a comprehensive insight into the history of communication. We tell media history(ies) along four major phenomena: Acceleration, networks, control, and participation.

In the permanent exhibition “Mediengeschichte|n neu erzählt!”, you can explore the evolution of communication across 2,500 square metres. Through groundbreaking inventions, curious experiences, and unusual life stories, we trace the journey from cuneiform tablets to artificial intelligence. You can enjoy hundreds of unique exhibits on telegraphs, telephones, radios and other communication technology.

In our rotating exhibitions, we explore additional facets of communication. Our exhibits often include interactive and multimedia elements for all ages. Feel free to talk to our Communicators at any time for more information regarding the exhibition and the museum.

After your visit, you may relax with a coffee break on our museum terrace with a splendid view of the Main. Our in-house café offers selfmade cakes and other treats.
