Short Inca Trail 1 day To start your 1-day excursion on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at 3:45 in the morning, or at another previously agreed time. Next, we will transfer you by tourist transport to the Ollantaytambo train station. Board your train (6:10 h) and embark on an epic journey to Km-104, the checkpoint of the 1-day Inca Trail. Pass the checkpoint escorted by a professional guide authorised to conduct hiking tours in Machu Picchu. Start enjoying your trip by visiting the mysterious archaeological site of Chachabamba, and then continue along an ascending stone path until you reach Wiñaywayna, an impressive archaeological centre strategically located with beautiful panoramic views. Here, take a short break to enjoy lunch and then continue walking through the rainforest enjoying the abundance of biodiversity until you reach the highest point of the 1-day Inca Trail, the Sun Gate (2,720 metres). From the Sun Gate, marvel at the stunning panoramic views of Machu Picchu in perfect harmony with the scenic beauty. Next, descend to the Guardian's House or also known as the Viewpoint and capture classic photos of Machu Picchu. After the excursion, at 17:30, take the bus to Aguas Calientes and enjoy dinner (on your own). Later, at 20:50, board your train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and accompanied by our staff.
