The 9-hour itinerary includes visits to the production sites of Parmigiano Reggiano and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, two iconic products of Emilia-Romagna.
Next, we will head to Canossa Castle to explore the fascinating history of Queen Matilde. Afterwards, we will enjoy a scenic drive through the Apennines National Park to reach our farm nestled in the mountains, where a farm-to-table lunch will be prepared for us.
Following our meal, we will have time to stroll through the forests surrounding the farm, where we may encounter free-range pigs and other animals. Together with the owner, we will also explore a 100-year-old chestnut orchard.
Our final stop will be the iconic “Pietra di Bismantova,” a rock formation shaped during the last Ice Age and mentioned by Dante Alighieri. We will embark on an easy 30-minute hike to the top, where we can enjoy a panoramic 360-degree view of the surrounding valleys and peaks.
We recommend wearing hiking shoes or footwear with good grip and comfort. If you prefer not to hike, you can still appreciate the view from a bench at the bottom or enjoy a coffee on a nearby terrace.
