King Khufu’s Solar Boat Museum Discover the awe-inspiring legacy of the Solar Boat Museum, home to two magnificent royal vessels that were unearthed beside the Great Pyramid in 1954. One of these ancient masterpieces has been fully restored, while the second is undergoing meticulous conservation and reassembly — offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness archaeology in action. The museum reveals the pivotal role of the boats in ancient Egyptian religion, navigation and royal funerary traditions. It illustrates how they were crafted to carry the pharaoh’s soul across the Nile into eternity.
