Begin your walking tour in a quieter temple setting, exploring the role of folk beliefs and everyday spirituality in Chinese Buddhism. Then, visit Hangzhou’s most famous temple and learn how Buddhism developed alongside imperial power, politics, and cultural exchange.

Focus on context and meaning, not just dates and names. Next, visit a calmer and more contemporary temple, offering insight into modern Buddhist practice and the idea of “Buddhism in daily life.”

For guests who feel comfortable, follow a local walking path down the mountain towards the Botanical Garden. This section is quieter and more nature-focused. If conditions or group energy change, the route will be adjusted accordingly.

Slow down, rest, and enjoy the greenery in the Hangzhou Botanical Garden. This is a transition from temples to everyday Hangzhou. End your tour near Qingzhiwu, a area known for authentic local food. Choose where and when to eat, with recommendations provided upon request.
