The tour starts with a visit to an Olive farm in Skalani village. After a walk in the olive grove under the guidance of the farm olive oil specialist, you will learn how to recognise the characteristics of extra virgin olive oil. Green aromas and flavours, fruity herbal and spicy notes are just some of the pure traits of this delicious product of the island where fresh, local ingredients are celebrated. Enjoy pairings with fresh vegetables, cheese, meat, honey, local wild growing herbs, bread and olives.
Next, you will visit one of Crete's most beautiful Wineries in Alagni village, renowned for producing excellent wines from indigenous grape varieties. Enjoy a tour of the biodynamic cultivated vineyard and the cellar with your wine Sommelier. Your table will be set right next to the vines, offering a spectacular view of the “Lasithiotika” high mountains. Wine tasting and lunch will include a food and wine pairing featuring local cuisine and premium wines specially selected by your Sommelier to suit your palate and preferences.
Lunch will be a 3 course food and wine pairing that you will enjoy right next to the vines. Indulge yourself in the unique aromas and tastes of Cretan vegetables, wild greens, cheese and meat, cooked with herbs and extra virgin olive oil. Two starters, a main course and a dessert will be paired with fine wines to create a memorable experience for your palate.
