Overview

Life is a trip and travel is a living twice. We’ll visit the most interesting Koh Ker and Preah Vihear Temple. You’ll be picked up from your hotel by your Tour Guide and drive east to Koh Ker.

First, we explore the Ancient Quarry” the Place where the ancient people took stones to build Angkor Wat”. The tour Guide will explain to you how they cut the Stones and how the Stones were transported to the Angkor Wat area. We continue our journey to Koh Ker.

We’ll visit Koh Ker and other beautiful temple surrounding it. After lunch at a Local restaurant, we drive through the countryside, rice Fields, and Villages to the Preah Vihear temple.

You’ll wander the magnificent mountain temple of Preah-Vihear. The temple overlooks the Cambodia plain and presents some impressive views.

Journey to Koh Ker, the former 10th century capital of the Angkorian Empire. Koh Ker was abandoned in the forest for too many years due to the Civil wars. After a drive for about two hours through beautiful scenic rural Cambodia, we arrived at Koh Ker ruins. We begin our visit at Prasat Thom creeping through the main gate way, franked by atmospheric sanctuaries. Walk along a serpent lined causeway to Prasat Krahorm “red brick temple” near there are Libraries and Reservoirs. Finally we arrive at Prasat Thom “centrepiece” Prasat Thom is large seven level pyramids constructed of sandstones, 45 metres height. If we climb to the upper terrace we will see panoramic jungle views. Visit other outlying temples. Archaeologists believe there may be more than 100 temple ruins in the area waiting to be discovered. On the way back we stop to visit O-thma Dab ”the place where the ancient Khmer people took stones to build Angkor Wat.

Affording a view of many kilometres across a plain, Prasat Preah Vihear has the most spectacular setting of all the temples built during the six-century-long Khmer Empire. As a key edifice of the empire's spiritual life, it was supported and modified by successive kings and so bears elements of several architectural styles. Preah Vihear is unusual among Khmer temples in being constructed along a long north–south axis, rather than having the conventional rectangular plan with orientation towards the east. The temple gives its name to Cambodia's Preah Vihear province, in which it is now located. On July 7, 2008, Preah Vihear was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will lead you through a tour of the temple which is home to many carvings depicting scenes like the famous curling of the sea on milk. You will then return to Siem Reap after a memorable day of exploration.
