What you can expect

From the port of Puno, a lake port located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, we will depart to the floating islands of Los Uros. Upon arrival we will witness the how the reeds grow along shore of Lake Titicaca which offer the inhabitants the material to create the artificial islands on which they live. These impressive islands are inhabited by Los Uros are a people who have lived on the floating islands of the lake for more than 3,000 years and their ancestral practices were declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 2013. As part of this experience, we will learn about their ancestral customs and together with the members of the community we will learn about the stories that surround the islands, the characteristics of their crafts, the elaboration of their embroidery based on reeds, and their daily activities. A charming panorama will accompany us on our journey to the island of Amantani where we will enter paths full of crops. We will witness the cultural richness of its inhabitants known for their traditional ritual of Pachatata and Pachamama, an ancestral celebration in honour of Mother Earth. We will have the opportunity to taste the local cuisine.
