The Atlantic Bridge, completed in August 2019, is an architectural marvel connecting the city of Colón to communities on the other side of the Panama Canal. It spans 4.6 kilometres (2.9 miles) and stands at a height of 75 metres (246 feet) above the canal, allowing massive Neo-Panamax ships to pass beneath. This cable-stayed bridge is one of the few in the world that spans a canal while remaining in operation, offering stunning views of the Caribbean Sea to the north and the bustling canal locks to the south. On one side, you can marvel at the Agua Clara Locks, watching enormous vessels traverse the canal, and on the other, the lush tropical rainforest that defines Panama’s natural beauty. Designed to improve connectivity and facilitate trade, the Atlantic Bridge is not only a functional infrastructure but also a symbol of Panama’s progress and innovation.

San Lorenzo National Park is a treasure trove of history and natural beauty, nestled within Panama’s lush tropical rainforest. Visitors can explore the San Lorenzo Fortress, a historic Spanish castle perched atop a cliff overlooking the Chagres River and the Caribbean Sea. The park also features a Visitor Centre, where exhibits detail the rich history of the fortress and its strategic importance. During the American military presence in Panama, this area played a key role in protecting the canal and regional security. We visited the New Locks of the Panama Canal. Here we can appreciate the incredible big new ships crossing while you can enjoy the Nature and the amazing view of Gatun Lake.
