ABOUT THE FISH

This is fishing, not an attraction with a guaranteed outcome. Most guests land at least one carp. Some days the fish simply are not interested, and your guide will tell you that honestly rather than pretend otherwise.

Fish that are caught are returned to the pond — you can hold your catch and photograph it before it goes back. If you are looking for a tour where you eat what you catch, this is not that tour, and we would rather you know that before you book.

What every guest leaves with, fish or no fish, is the photographs.

TIMING TIP

Tokyo summers are hot. Some of the fishing decks are shaded, but seats are first-come and not reserved — morning and late-afternoon starts are noticeably more comfortable than midday, and the carp are more active at both ends of the day.
