Every first Saturday of the month, in the morning, a guided walking tour retraces the history of the city and its monuments: the medieval Castle built in 1358 by Count Amedeo VI of Savoy, known as the Green Count, which still retains its appearance as a defensive fortress; the Cathedral of Santa Maria with its Romanesque bell towers and recently restored crypt; the Bishop's Palace; the alleys of the upper city with their evocative views; and the squares that are the scene of the Battle of the Oranges during the Historic Carnival of Ivrea.
The tour will start with a visit to the Archaeological Collection of the P.A. Garda Civic Museum, which is rich in evidence of the city and its territory from the Neolithic age to the late medieval period.
Duration: 2.5 h - Visits in Italian/English.
