Your day will start with a hotel pick-up by our friendly driver, who will take you to Tazari Village in the north of Zanzibar. When you arrive, you will enter a village built on red earth where traditional life continues. You will walk through the village and see mud houses made from clay, people dressed in colourful kangas, and tropical plants like banana trees, cassava, and mango trees.
You will meet a local woman who will show you how she weaves mats and baskets from natural palm leaves. You will also visit a small local workshop, where nails and tools for building traditional dhows are made by hand. Then, you will see the village Madrasa (school), where children study and learn. Guests are encouraged to bring small gifts or school supplies to help local women and children.
After the cultural walk, you will continue to Baraka Natural Aquarium, a place where you can swim with sea turtles in a safe and natural environment. You will learn about the turtles, how they are cared for, and their importance to the ocean. You can touch and feed the turtles while enjoying this unique experience.
At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel with our driver, completing a day full of Zanzibar’s culture, traditions, and marine life. This tour gives you a real taste of local life and a rare chance to meet the gentle sea turtles of Zanzibar.
