Mount Vesuvius is Italy's most famous volcano and ranks as the second most dangerous in the world. It is globally known for its catastrophic eruption in 79 AD, which buried the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, and Stabiae. The driver will take you up to an altitude of 1,000 metres, where you will then follow a scenic 30-minute trekking path to the crater.
