5:00 a.m.: We will head out onto the river to witness the Amazonian sunrise and observe the birdlife—including the *shansho* or hoatzin (*Opisthocomus hoazin*), a fascinating, primitive Amazonian bird that retains unique prehistoric traits—as they begin a new day of survival. Afterwards, we will swim alongside pink dolphins in their natural habitat. Finally, we will go piranha fishing before returning to the lodge for lunch and to prepare for the journey back to the town of Nauta. En route, we will visit Puerto San Miguel, a village inhabited by members of Amazonian communities; we will observe their daily activities and, if you wish, have the opportunity to purchase handicrafts made as part of their everyday lives—a way to support the community. Upon arrival in Nauta, we will take our private vehicle directly to the city of Iquitos, where we will head to the airport or your hotel to say our goodbyes and wish you a pleasant journey and a speedy return. The tour concludes at 6:00 p.m.
