Discover Copenhagen from two unique perspectives, on foot and from the water. This guided tour blends a leisurely city walk, a scenic ride on the electric harbour public ferry, and ends with the iconic Changing of the Guards ceremony at the Royal Palace.
Start at the Central Station Clock
We meet in the very middle of Copenhagen Central Station's main hall, directly under the large round analogue clock on the central pillar - in between the 7-Eleven and red the ticket machines. From here, you’ll begin a journey through history, culture and unforgettable city views.
Highlights on Foot
Stroll through historic streets and squares while your host shares stories of royalty and everyday life in Copenhagen. Along the way you will see:
• Christiansborg Palace – home to Denmark’s parliament
• Tivoli Gardens – one of the world’s oldest amusement parks
• Amalienborg Palace – residence of the Danish royal family
• The Little Mermaid – Copenhagen’s most iconic statue
Sail the Harbour by Public Ferry
Board the eco-friendly electric public ferry and glide across the water. Enjoy panoramic views of Copenhagen, colourful townhouses, historic landmarks and modern architecture while your host shares local insights and hidden gems.
The Mermaid & The Royal Finale: After the ferry ride, we continue our walk past the historic 17th-century Citadel (Kastellet) and say hello to The Little Mermaid.
Changing of the Guards
The tour ends at Amalienborg Palace, for the iconic Changing of the Guards royal ceremony.
Important Tour Information
Fitness & Walking Level: This is an intermediate-level walking tour covering a duration of 3 hours. While we do not walk fast, we do cover a significant distance. To get the most out of this experience, you should be comfortable being on your feet and walking for the duration of the tour. This tour is not suitable for individuals with walking difficulties or limited mobility.
Ferry Alternative: The harbour ferry is a popular public transit option. In the rare event that it is full or out of service (primarily a possibility on busy weekends and sunny afternoons), we don’t skip a beat! Instead, we will enjoy a scenic walk along the same canal route. It covers the exact same itinerary but adds approximately 2 km of extra walking to the tour - plus a couple of extra bonus highlight stops along the way!
