What you can expect

Revel in the statuesque presence of Christ the Redeemer at the top of Corcovado on this small-group guided tour. Wander through the vibrant artist area of Santa Teresa to climb the Selarón Steps, and embark on a scenic cable car ride up Sugarloaf Mountain.

This tour of Rio's most iconic sights begins once you are picked up at your hotel and head to the top of the Corcovado Hill. When you reach the top of this hunchbacked mountain, step out onto the viewing platform and stand at the base of the enormous Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The 92-foot (28-m) arm span stretches out dramatically to embrace the city from its perch.

Next, return to sea level and continue on to charming Santa Teresa, one of Rio's oldest areas, where local artists create original works in eclectic studios. Walk along avenues adorned with lively murals before reaching the Selarón Steps, a colourful staircase covered in over 2,000 tiles collected from more than 60 countries around the world made by Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón.

Top off your tour with an epic ending on a cable-car ride to Sugarloaf Mountain. This journey allows you to ascend to Urca Hill as you soak in exceptional views of Guanabara Bay, Corcovado Hill, the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, Copacabana Beach, and the Santa Cruz Fortress.
