The Labuan Bajo Urban Discovery Tour is designed for travellers who want to experience more than the region’s famous marine attractions. While Labuan Bajo is known as the gateway to Komodo National Park, the town itself offers fascinating stories, cultural diversity, and authentic local experiences.
Choose a morning departure at 09:00 or an afternoon departure at 14:00. Your journey begins with hotel pick-up in Labuan Bajo. Travel by shared smart buggy and explore different parts of town while your guide shares insights into local life, community stories, and the development of Labuan Bajo as a tourism destination.
This tour visits a school, a recycling centre, and a fish market for a reason. Most visitors only see Labuan Bajo from a boat. This tour shows the town behind the Komodo boom: where young people train for tourism careers, how the town manages tourism-related waste, and how fishing remains part of everyday life.
The first stop is Sylvia Hill, one of Labuan Bajo’s most scenic viewpoints, with sweeping views of the coastline, surrounding islands, and rolling hills. A drone souvenir photo experience is also included. The link will be shared within a maximum of 7 x 24 hours after the tour.
The tour then stops in front of SMKN 1 Labuan Bajo, a vocational school specialising in tourism and hospitality. The on-screen virtual guide and English-speaking live guide explain the school’s role in preparing local youth for tourism careers.
Next, visit the PDU Recycling Centre to learn about local environmental initiatives and waste management efforts. Continue to a Mosque and Catholic Church, reflecting the town’s cultural and religious diversity.
At ZASGO Mart, take a short break, use the bathroom, browse local products, or enjoy light shopping.
Continue to Puncak Waringin, a popular viewpoint overlooking the harbour and town centre, offering excellent photo opportunities and a better understanding of Labuan Bajo’s geography and development.
The final stop is Kampung Ujung Fish Market, where guests can observe local fishermen, seafood trading activities, and the role of fishing in the local economy.
At the end of the experience, guests will be transferred back to the hotel, completing the half-day tour.
