Experience a unique full-day adventure from 9 AM to 3 PM at the heart of Khmu culture. More than just a cooking class, it is a total immersion in the traditional way of life in Laos.
Your adventure begins with a visit to an authentic vegetable farm, where you will pick the vegetables and plants you need for your meal. Your Khmu guide will explain how to identify edible, medicinal, and everyday-use plants commonly used in their village.
Next, you will venture into the primary forest to learn ancestral wild-cooking techniques. Using bamboo, you will discover how to make your own utensils for drinking, eating, and cooking. You will also learn how to select and prepare bamboo to cook fragrant rice, grill meat or fish, and present your dishes just as Khmu families still do today.
This is not just a meal, but a true transmission of traditional knowledge. You will enjoy your lunch in the forest, surrounded by nature, sharing a unique moment of conviviality.
All basic ingredients (rice, meat, fish, fruits, and drinking water) are provided.
