Kaichu Road

This 4.75km long sea road connects the main island with Henza Island. The beautiful view of the road stretching in a straight line over the emerald green sea makes it a popular driving spot.

Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters

This is a place to pass on to future generations the war experiences of the female students (Himeyuri Student Corps) who were mobilised as nurses during the Battle of Okinawa. Sefa-Utaki

It is considered the most sacred place in the Ryukyu Kingdom and is said to have been created by Amamikiyo, the Ryukyuan creator god. It is also registered as a World Heritage Site, and there are no artificial structures here, with the natural rocks and trees worshipped as a place where gods reside.

Chinen Cape

This cape juts out into the Pacific Ocean and is a spectacular spot from which you can get a distant view of Kudaka Island and Komaka Island. Cape Chinen Park is maintained here, and you can stroll along the promenade or from the red-tiled gazebo while gazing at the sea, enjoying panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful cobalt blue sea.
