Your driver or tour guide will brief you on the day’s itinerary and what to expect. Set off from Marrakech for a full-day journey through the Ourika Valley, nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.
Hotel pickup is available where access permits. If your accommodation is in an area that vehicles cannot reach, we’ll arrange a nearby meeting point and send you the details the evening before your trip.
As you leave the city behind, enjoy the scenic mountain roads and views of Amazigh (Berber) villages built into the hillsides. You’ll also learn about the region’s traditions and way of life. On Mondays and Thursdays, you may visit a local souk, where families from the valley shop for food and everyday essentials.
Along the way, you can stop at a women’s cooperative to learn how argan oil is made and browse locally produced items, including cosmetics and amlou, sometimes known as “Berber Nutella.”
Continue to Setti Fatma, where a local guide can lead you on a hike to the waterfalls. The walk takes about an hour and includes uneven, steep sections. If you’d rather not hike, relax by the riverside and enjoy the peaceful mountain setting.
After your visit, you can have lunch at a riverside restaurant. Lunch is at your own expense. You’ll then return to Marrakech, with an estimated arrival time of around 5:00 PM.
