What you can expect

Be amazed by two Neapolitan art and architecture treasures in a single tour with a combined ticket!

The Pio Monte della Misericordia is an institution founded in 1602 by seven Neapolitan nobles who, aware of the needs of a population in need of help and solidarity, decided to devote part of their wealth and efforts to charitable works.

The most beautiful palace of the seventeenth century in the heart of Naples houses Caravaggio's masterpiece, “The Seven Works of Mercy,” surrounded by six other masterpieces by seventeenth-century Neapolitan masters. It has always been the headquarters of the Pio Monte della Misericordia, founded in 1602 by seven generous young Neapolitan nobles to provide concrete responses to the needs of a large part of the population afflicted by poverty.

Following a centuries-old tradition, today it is also a modern inclusive museum, where Beauty continues to inspire Goodness, realised concretely through social, solidarity, educational, and inclusive projects and initiatives.

In sacred art, the word Treasure indicates the Chapel of the Relics, but in Naples, the Treasure of San Gennaro also houses an invaluable collection of devotional objects in gold, silver, bronze, and precious stones. Over the centuries, these treasures have been donated to San Gennaro by Neapolitan and foreign sovereigns, popes, and the people. The ticket to the Treasure of San Gennaro includes an audio guide that will accompany you on the discovery of the Chapel of San Gennaro, the Treasure, and the sacristies.

The Treasure of San Gennaro has undertaken important interventions to ensure the accessibility of the spaces and contents for visitors, working to remove physical, cognitive, and sensory barriers and promoting the inclusion of all visitors with specific needs and disabilities.
