Experience Auckland's award-winning Sunset Sea Kayak Tour to Rangitoto Island, New Zealand's youngest volcano. Paddle across the Waitemat ā Harbour with qualified local guides while enjoying spectacular views of Auckland's skyline and the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park.
After landing on Rangitoto Island, join your guide for a walk to the summit, where you'll discover the island's fascinating volcanic landscape and enjoy panoramic 360° views across Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf. Time your arrival to watch the sun set before returning to the shoreline for a freshly prepared Kiwi BBQ dinner.
As darkness falls, paddle back across the Waitematā Harbour beneath the stars, with Auckland's illuminated skyline providing a spectacular backdrop. This unique return journey offers a completely different perspective of the city and is one of Auckland's most memorable outdoor experiences.
No previous kayaking experience is required. Before departing, your qualified guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing and paddling instruction, making the tour suitable for both first-time and experienced kayakers. The experience includes a guided sea kayak tour, a guided walk to the Rangitoto summit, all kayaking and safety equipment, a freshly prepared Kiwi BBQ dinner, hot drinks, and return paddling under the night sky, with views of the city lights.
Participants should have a moderate level of fitness and be comfortable paddling for up to 1.5 hours at a time, along with completing an approximately 7 km return walk over uneven volcanic terrain. Scheduled departures are available for guests aged 14 years and over and operate subject to suitable weather conditions.
