What you can expect

  • Discover Rotorua with Cheeky Kiwi Travel. You travel in a small group in a modern, comfortable minibus, and your local guide shares stories about New Zealand throughout the day. Leave Auckland in the morning and drive south through the green farmland of the Waikato region, with a coffee stop on the way.

    Your first stop is Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. Spend about 90 minutes walking past bubbling mud pools, steaming craters and the colourful Champagne Pool. Then enjoy lunch, which is included in your tour.

    In the afternoon, enjoy the activity you chose when booking. Join a guided tour of Te Puia to see the Pōhutu Geyser and learn about Māori culture. Relax in hot pools beside Lake Rotorua at the Polynesian Spa, or in a private cedar hot tub at Secret Spot, with a short nature walk. Walk high above the forest floor on the Redwoods Treewalk, or fly through the trees on a zipline with Rotorua Canopy Tours.

    Your guide also takes you on a short driving tour of Rotorua, including Lake Rotorua and Government Gardens. Then relax on the drive back to Auckland, with extra stops for photos along the way.
