Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this productLeaving Cape Town towards east. Our journey into the wine country will take us past some of cape Town and South Africa's most well known townships. The first one Langa, is the oldest township in south Africa dated back from 1823. Compared with other informal settlements in South Africa, Langa is well developed and has seen its local economy grow from strength to strength. Notable newer industries include ceramic manufacturing, traditional South African bistros, and film production. Safe House, starring Denzel Washington, is one of the most famous films filmed here.
Stop At: Zevenwacht Cellar & Vineyards
Stop at Zevenwacht, an award-winning wine estate, for a wine and cheese pairing and cellar tour—a perfect start to your morning on the wine route.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Stellenbosch town, Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Drive to the small but vibrant town of Stellenbosch, known as South Africa's second-oldest colonial town after Cape Town. The region grows many grape varieties, including chenin blanc, shiraz, pinotage, and méthode cap classique for sparkling wine. Its Cape Dutch architecture, water furrows, and oak trees over 300 years old evoke a bygone era. Dorp street for example has the longest row of oldest buildings in the Southern Hemisphere. Your guide will give a chance to explore the town on foot and also an orientation of the town.

Stop At: Franschhoek, Franschhoek, Western Cape
Stop in Franschhoek, whose name translates into English as ‘French Corner,’ for lunch. Franschhoek is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. It has centuries of old vineyards and Cape Dutch Architecture. This town is also known to be the heart for food and wine in the country. It is also situated in one of the most beautiful wine valleys in the world. At the bottom of the road, we will find the Huguenot Monument. It dates back to the 17th and 18th century, when the French came to settle here.

Stop At: Groot Drakenstein Prison.
Drakenstein Prison was formerly known as Victor Verster. This prison was home to our late Nelson Mandela for the last fourteen months of his long political imprisonment.
