What you can expect
Embark on a private full-day journey to Cape Agulhas—the southernmost tip of Africa—on a scenic return trip from Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, or Hermanus. We travel there and back via different routes, taking in the sweeping views of the Overberg’s wide plains, dramatic mountain passes, and one of South Africa’s most spectacular coastal roads.
At Cape Agulhas, stand where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Gaze out over the rugged, boulder-strewn shoreline and the wild, untamed sea. Imagine the hopes and fears of early seafarers who navigated this treacherous coast in small wooden ships.
Along the way, we’ll keep an eye out for birds, including the elegant and endangered Blue Crane—South Africa’s national bird. We stop for a relaxed lunch at a charming farm kitchen or in one of the quaint towns we pass through.
This is a tour for those who enjoy travelling at an easy pace, with time to stop, explore, and truly experience each place. It’s a day to taste, smell, listen, and connect—with nature, history, and the spirit of the land.
Your guide and host, Jim, is a Cape Town native who guides in both English and Swedish. He is passionate about South Africa’s history, culture, nature, and wine—and he knows all sorts of special places off the beaten track. His love for his country inspired him to become a qualified tour guide, and today he shares that passion with visitors from around the world. You’re welcome to ask him anything along the way.
