Board a traditional wooden galar at the Dworzec Wodny barge in Powiśle as the city starts to glow. Cruise along the Vistula boulevards and under three bridges towards the Old and New Towns, passing the Copernicus Science Centre, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and the old Praga Port. Across the river, the right bank stays wild and green – a rare sight in a European capital.
On the way back, sail past the National Stadium, Poniatówka Beach and a small, wild island in the middle of the river. The boat has an open-air deck and a covered deck, plus blankets for cooler evenings. Groups are small – no more than 11 guests, and many say their skipper's stories about Warsaw were a highlight of the trip.
Welcome drink: a glass of alcohol-free prosecco in spring and summer, or mulled wine in autumn and winter (tea available as an alcohol-free option).
