What's included, what's not
- 90 to 120-minute guided tour
- Special focus tours available (e.g., Harry Potter inspirations)
- Entry to one of the University of Oxford colleges or Divinity School, worth up to £3 per person entry fee
- Which college we may visit will depend on what happens to be open on the date and time of your tour but colleges we usually visit includes either St Johns or Exeter or Wadham or Oriel or All Souls or St Edmund Hall.
- Any college which costs more than £3 per person entry, is not included in the cost of your tour. However, you can negotiate on the day with your guide to check if possibly the guide agrees to take you inside any such college but at additional cost of such entry fees to be paid directly to the college. For example, if you book a 5pm start time tour, then the only college which is open after 5pm and only in summer time too, is Magdalen college, £10 entry.
- Duke Humfreys library at the Bodleian library is not included.
- The only way to see inside the Bodleian library is by booking the Bodleian library's own guided tour via the Bodleian website and these tickets usually are sold out weeks in advance.
- Christ church college is never included in this tour due to entry costs and limited entry times and limited tickets which usually have sold out days in advance. To visit Christ church, please look for our other tour listed on here which is called Christ church Harry Potter Oxford tour.
What you can expect
Discover the architectural gem of Oxford on a guided walking tour. Choose from a general tour focused on the city and university heritage, or a tour with a special focus for Harry Potter fans, on the inspirations of JK Rowling and why she persuaded Warner Bros to film the films of Harry Potter in Oxford.
Meet your guide and set off on your walking tour. Learn about the University of Oxford, which is comprised of 39 colleges, with the oldest colleges dating back to the 1200s.
Customise your tour to your interests. For example, see the Divinity School, which was used as the Hogwarts infirmary in the Harry Potter films.
Choose to visit inside one of the colleges of the university or inside the Divinity School at the Bodleian Library. If you wish to pay extra, you can negotiate with your guide to see inside a second college or venue.
