At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Casa do Benin Museum to begin this gastronomic tour of Salvador. Are you ready?
After a brief introduction to the cuisine of Salvador, which is known as the Black Rome, we'll begin a tour of the Santo Antônio area. We'll see its colourful streets, then head to the Casa da Vovó restaurant, where we'll try acarajé. This recipe, made with bean dough, has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Salvador.
The next stop is at Zanzibar Restaurant. At this establishment, which is always frequented by Bahian artists who sing the songs of Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, we will enjoy a typical drink. This is the ginger smoothie, which we'll try while enjoying traditional music from northeastern Brazil.
Finally, after a three-hour journey, we will conclude this culinary route through Salvador at Bar Ulisses. There, we'll eat a traditional dish, which, depending on the season, will be moqueca, feijoada or cozido. Bon appétit!
