What you can expect

  • Escape to the San Blas Islands for a 2-day, 1-night stay on Aroma Island, also known as Isla Asserya. Sleep in a private cabin with your own bathroom and wooden floor, enjoy freshly prepared island meals, and explore nearby islands and the natural pool on an included boat excursion.

This stay combines beach relaxation with the privacy of your own cabin, while keeping the simple character of a Guna island experience.

Day 1: Journey to Aroma Island

If you select the transport option, your adventure begins with an early pickup from your Panama City accommodation. Travel by shared 4x4 through the winding mountain roads of Guna Yala to the Caribbean coast. At the mainland port, board a boat for the journey to Aroma Island.

On arrival, settle into your private cabin and get to know your island surroundings. Coconut palms, white sand and clear Caribbean water provide the setting for an afternoon at your own pace.

Take a swim, stroll along the shoreline or relax in the shade. With no busy sightseeing schedule, there is time to enjoy the beach and the slower rhythm of island life.

Enjoy lunch and dinner prepared by the local island team. Meals are simple and freshly cooked, with dishes depending on availability. Fish may be served with rice, salad or other accompaniments. Drinks are available to purchase separately.

As the day draws to a close, watch the changing light over the sea before returning to your cabin for the night.

    Your Private Island Cabin

Your accommodation includes a private sleeping space, wooden flooring and a private bathroom. It offers added privacy while remaining a rustic island cabin.

Expect simple facilities and limited electricity. Bedrooms have lighting but no electrical sockets; phones can be charged in the main house. Bring your own towel and toiletries. Island staff speak Spanish and basic English.

Day 2: Island Hopping and the Natural Pool

Start your morning with breakfast before joining the included boat excursion. Discover nearby San Blas islands and visit the natural pool, a shallow offshore area where you can enjoy time in the clear water.

Swim, take photographs and experience more of the archipelago’s scenery. The stops and their order depend on weather and sea conditions.

Return to Aroma Island for lunch, followed by time to enjoy the beach before your scheduled island departure at approximately 3:00 PM.

Travel by boat back to the mainland port. If you selected return transport, continue by shared 4x4 to your Panama City accommodation.

This overnight escape is ideal for travellers who want white-sand beaches, island exploration and a private bathroom, and who enjoy simple accommodation close to nature.
