Tick an item off the bucket list with this incredible experience: an up-close encounter with humpback whales. Swim with these gentle giants and other marine life on a unique tour in a stunning French Polynesian lagoon.
Known as the best place in the world for an in-water experience with humpback whales and other wildlife species, French Polynesia is one of the rare places on earth where swimming with these beautiful giants is permitted.
Observe them in their natural habitat, playfully interacting with one another. Learn about the whales' migration and watch them evolve in their natural habitat with experienced tour guides.
Then, the experienced guides will brief you on proper safety guidelines and how to respect the animals before you dive into the water for an indescribable experience that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
On top of the whale watching, during the day tour, you could have the opportunity to observe more animals in the ocean around Mo’orea.

Important
French law requires life jackets for whale swimming tours, but provides exemption for those wearing a wetsuit. It can be a shorty (spring suit) or a full suit. We will provide the most hydrodynamic life jackets possible for guests who don’t have a wetsuit.
However, if you don’t want to wear a life jacket, bring a wetsuit.

Please note that whale sightings or swimming is never guaranteed. Our team will always give its absolute best to have great whale encounters, but whales will always have the last say. If we don't get to swim with whales the tour will not be refunded.

To swim with whales, guests must be good swimmers and comfortable using snorkelling gear (no full-face masks allowed).
Our team will give a very clear briefing at the beginning of the tour with very specific instructions for everyone's safety and to have a successful and respectful experience with the whales.
Swimming to the whales can be easy or very difficult depending on ocean conditions and the whales’ behaviour. We enter the water 100 metres away from the whales, as required by government regulations. This is the minimum swimming distance if the whales remain still; if they move away, the distance increases.

If participants can't follow the crew's instructions or are unable to swim to the whales with the rest of the group they will be returned to the boat.

Our whale watching tours take place in the open ocean. Conditions can change at any time. If you are subject to sea sickness, prepare accordingly before going on tour.
