Together, we will discover the Gothic cathedral of Arezzo.
The cathedral dedicated to Saint Donatus, the city's patron saint, stands tall on the steps, with the typical warm colour of sandstone.
As soon as we enter, we are greeted by a Gothic atmosphere that is certainly rare in our country.
The interior is a treasure trove of masterpieces, from the Renaissance stained-glass windows by Guillaume de Marcillat to the double pulpit, from the oldest organ in Europe to the cenotaph of the Bishop-Count, from the Magdalene by Piero della Francesca to the beautiful marble altar dedicated to the patron saint.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation is a true jewel of Neoclassical style, and inside it conceals works from the most prestigious Florentine workshop of the Renaissance: the Della Robbia family.
