Know before you book

    • Just a heads up, visiting the Church of Piedigrotta involves going down and back up around 80 to100 steps
    • Not suitable for those with reduced mobility due to uneven paths or steps
    • Dress appropriately – no shoulders or knees showing – when visiting religious buildings

What you can expect

  • Small cobble streets, sea air and a chocolaty dessert – you can expect all three on this tour. From Tropea, you'll head to Pizzo and make your way down to the Piedigrotta cave-church, where faith and folklore are carved straight into the rock. Back in town, you'll wander Pizzo's old streets on a guided tour, pausing for stories and photo opportunities at coastal viewpoints. Then comes the sweet part, a live Tartufo di Pizzo demo and tasting. After you've had your fill of this chocolate truffle treat, you're free to wander and settle into Calabria at your own pace.
