Paestum is one of the most significant and valuable archaeological sites of Italy. Gem of our cultural heritage and known for its spectacular Doric temples, the legend attributes its construction to the “Argonauts” of the Greek mythology. The town, at first called Poseidonia in honour of Poseidon, God of the Sea, became very soon one of the most prosperous cities in the Mediterranean area. Its decline coincides with the fall of the Roman Empire. The journey from Naples lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once there, our driver will assist you with the purchase of the entrance tickets. Not far from the temples there is the Archaeological Museum of Paestum, which contains some of the most important artefacts in southern Italy.
