What you can expect

Stand exactly where Civil Rights heroes and icons stood, and changed the history of our nation!

When Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, he determinedly brought our nation’s capital to the centre stage amid the Civil Rights Movement. However, the powerful and often untold history of African American civil rights activism, aristocracy, and culture within Washington, DC, predates the contemporary era.

We have curated a one-of-a-kind African American history tour that gives visitors a chance to experience the richness of Washington, DC, through the eyes of our African American compatriots. During this tour, we guide you through many of Washington, DC’s highlights while considering the significance of the black perspective. Visit the remarkable sites rooted in our nation’s history thanks to the innumerable contributions of freed and enslaved African Americans. Look out for magnificent views of the United States Capitol, Freedom Plaza, Howard University and so much more!

After the tour, you will visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. We provide access to the museum with reserved timed entry passes. Inside, you will find thousands of artefacts that are chronologically organised for a progressive and user-friendly experience.
