"First of all, the positives: the staff are quite friendly and accommodating and the hotel is conveniently located very close to Gare de Paris-Montparnasse and metro stations.
Unfortunately, like many small independently-owned hotels, it’s not the most comfortable place to stay. The bed was fine, but the walls were not soundproofed . I could hear conversations in the room next door and even the sound of someone using the toilet in the room next door. Thankfully, I had silicon earplugs with me, or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep. The bathroom had been renovated, but the shower was cramped and the water pressure was very weak. The worst, however, was there were no amenities … no tissues (except for toilet tissue), no kettle to boil water for tea or coffee (which, obviously were also not provided). The hotel doesn’t even provide a complimentary bottle of water. That’s not an environmental choice either, as there’s no complimentary water fountain or service downstairs in the lobby either.
The photos provided on Hotels.com for the room I reserved do not correspond at all to the room I had. The cute balcony is a nice eye-catcher, but it wasn’t in my room.
Despite a very pleasant staff at the hotel, this experience was not worth the price paid."
