What you can expect
Embark on our private 'Paradise Islands' tour and discover the magic of Angra dos Reis! Sail through crystal-clear waters and breathtaking landscapes, visiting 4 jewels of the region: the Botinas Islands, a vibrant natural aquarium; Jurubaíba Beach (or Dentista Beach), with calm waters and white sands; Flechas Beach, with its exuberant scenery; and Ponta da Piedade, a historical landmark of singular beauty.
BOTINAS ISLANDS: the islands are to Angra what Christ the Redeemer is to Rio de Janeiro! Our most famous postcard image. Their formation resembles two boots when viewed from above, hence their name. The sea current that surrounds them keeps the sea around them always clear and teeming with small “Sergeant Major” fish. Because of their beauty, visitors who know how to swim can hardly resist a dip. Leftover bread from breakfast? Take it in your bag, the little fish will love it.
JURUBAÍBA BEACH: This beach is also known as Dentist's Beach, a name it earned in the early 1990s because it houses a single residence belonging to the dentist of former President Collor, Mr. Olímpio Faissol. It's a charming beach with white sand and calm sea, perfect for young visitors to enjoy.
Because it's very sheltered, it's a meeting point for boats of all sizes, and weekend parties are famous. Affectionately called “Juruba” by the residents of Angra dos Reis, legend has it that it boasts the region's “sunroof,” as blue skies are usually guaranteed there.
ARROWS BEACH: At Arrows Beach, the lush vegetation surrounding the beach makes the emerald green of the Atlantic Forest reflect in the sea that bathes it. The site of Gipóia's first restaurant, the very traditional Bar do Luiz, its sandy beaches make for a post-lunch stroll, offering a view of the imposing Ilha Grande and the coming and going of boats circulating in our bay.
PONTA DA PIEDADE: Located right at the “tip of the city,” another name by which it is also known, it is home to the charming Church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, dating from the 20th century, which hosts weddings for the islanders of Gipóia. At low tide, a small strip of sand connects the beach to Ilha da Piedade, famous for housing the first Ilha de Caras in Angra.
Its calm waters provide a very relaxing sea bath, with a picturesque landscape! Angra dos Reis is a destination that maintains its fascination over the decades. It gained international renown in the 80s, when it was chosen as a setting for Brazilian soap operas. Even with the passage of time, the bay of Angra continues to irresistibly attract visitors.
